Statement of Faith

Our beliefs are rooted in the truth of God’s Word and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Our Core Beliefs

God

There is one God, Creator of all things.  We believe God eternally exists as three in one: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary and is the only begotten Son of God.  We believe He was anointed by God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring the kingdom of God to earth and to save mankind from their sins.  He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected and ascended into Heaven and is now alive at the right hand of the Father.

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, enabling all to live a godly life of obedience to the Word.  We believe the gifts of the Spirit are poured out on believers for the purpose of strengthening God’s people and a proof of God’s power and love for all people.

Mankind

We believe that all people are created in the image of God, yet all have been born into a life of sin through the fall of man.  We believe that through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ and accepting Him as Lord one becomes a new creation and is redeemed once again to live the life of God’s design.  Only in oneness with God, through Christ, filled with Holy Spirit is man truly alive and free.

The Bible

We believe the bible is the infallible, divinely inspired word of God.  We hold the bible to have final authority in the life of every believer as the revealed will of God.

Historic Statements We Affirm

We also affirm the beliefs stated within these historic expressions of Christian faith.

Aposltes' Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

Nicene Creed

Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, visible and invisible. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate from the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],* who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith (1942)

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
